Antiplatelet Drugs, Anticoagulants and Hemorrhagic Risk
After a myocardial infarction, the use of aspirin and clopidogrel is recommended, but many patients in this conditions also need a vitamin-K antagonist. But these drugs together cause an increase in hemorrhagic risk, even severe, and they consequently increase overall morbidity and mortality. In order to verify the safety of a contemporary use of anticoagulation and antiplatelet drugs, then, some researchers in Denmark have identified 40,000 adults in the national registry, with the prescription of one or more of the following drugs: aspirin, clopidogrel, warfarin in the 90 days following myocardial infarction.
